Training and Transformation

While plans and strategies emanate from corporate departments, the true light of impact must shine from the operational teams. Too often we have seen lackluster sustainability programs suffer because the lifeblood of the organization – the frontline employees – are not properly engaged.

As one client put it, “no one can make staff care about this stuff better than Aurora.” At our core, we desire to see all levels and departments share in sustainability problem solving, as well as the celebration of positive impact. We are masters at integrating sustainability into the hearts and job descriptions of everyone throughout an organization.

Interactive Training

We offer dynamic training with hands-on application on a wide variety of social and environmental topics, including materials waste reduction, food waste prevention, sustainable procurement, buy local programs, sustainable events, and more.

Empathetic Coaching

Sustainability is a lot of “you don’t know what you don’t know” and people feel intimated and alone in this work, particularly if it’s not your main role or your background. We believe most professionals have what it takes but just need someone to provide guidance. Let us help you take the next step with confidence.

Operational Integration

Our workshops are galvanizing experiences but the work doesn’t stop there. It’s only just beginning. We work with organizational and departmental leaders to design practical job tasks, establish policies, create accountability structures, assess performance, and develop talent to support social and environmental programs.

Certification Support

The ultimate expression of a formalized sustainability program is when it is validated by a third party. These rigorous schemes can be daunting but we provide a project management approach that helps you prioritize your efforts and facilitates a smooth audit. Guiding organizations through certifications and reporting platforms like Ecovadis, CDP, Green Key Global, EIC Sustainable Event Standards, and more.

" After experiencing your in-depth workshop about Food Waste at MPI's WEC in Louisville, I continue to be inspired by notes I took that day! In addition to opening my eyes about potential solutions to reduce wasteful catering practices, you motivated me to become much more persistent when working with partners and suppliers I want to collaborate with. Instead of accepting the "way things are done" when I know there's an opportunity to plan better and prevent unnecessary waste, I will keep asking until I connect with the person at an organization who wants to/is able to think about alternative approaches to achieve a different end goal. Thank you for sharing your work on this front - we have so far to go, but every small change we can make matters."

(And I will ALWAYS judge the way salad dressings are presented on a buffet or pre-set table, and wonder how many gallons of it might be in the kitchen!)
